I first visited the Golden Temple in 1996 on Guru Nanak’s birthday. The mystic energy flowing through the temple’s corridors teeming with thousands of pilgrims drew me in too and I spent twenty hours capturing the celebrations non-stop. Those unforgettable images from that day formed my first book on the Golden Temple.
It has been twenty two years since I have been photographing this revered spiritual site through different seasons and festivals. Every single time I visit the Golden Temple, I am engulfed by such inexplicable energy that I find myself running around the Parikrama, climbing the Ramgarhia Bunga towers and chasing the Palki Sahib ceremony as if I was a young man in his 20’s.
These experiences have helped me create a repository of rare Golden Temple images.
